African fuel quality matters – ARA Week confirms

On 24-27 March 2019, representatives of Sustainable Fuels, ACFA and ACELA joined technical meetings of the African Refiners Association (ARA) in Cape Town, South Africa to discuss such issues as fuel specification, regulation and storage. The team also participated in the ARA Week, an annual flagship event of ARA, where we spoke about best practices related to ensuring better safety of Underground Tank Storage (UST) in Africa.

The future of fuel specification is a particularly important topic in Africa, as it is directly linked to improvements of urban air quality. In effect, improvements of fuel specification leads to preservation of environment and public health in Africa. The working groups of ARA have been undertaking tremendous work to develop and promote AFRI specifications, which among other issues, focus on reduction of sulphur in African fuel.

Sustainable Fuels is committed to work with African stakeholders to help African states in their transition towards cleaner and more efficient fuels.
